Walking through Oxford with Tony!!

Lunch at the Eagle and Child with photos of C.S. Lewis and Tolkein in the background
Being in Oxford for Tony was exciting.  But for Steve it was just as exciting to have a former student whom he could converse with in a place that they've both respected for its education.

C.S. Lewis, Eagle and Child

Lunch with the Archbishop of Georgia (separated from Russia), was a learning experience. This restaurant, Eagle and Child, between the years 1939 - 1962, C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkein, and
others, met every Tuesday morning in the back room (where we sat to have our lunch). This

was considered their favorite pub. This is where they would discuss the books they were writing and have a pint.
The Archbishop is working on his PhD through OCMS (Oxford Centre for Mission Studies). He asks us to pray for his country.

Oxford Changing of the Leaves!!!

Walking from Wycliffe Hall to Rhodes House to do research, and then back again, is quite a nice
walk, now, when the leaves are just starting to change color. I love to notice the detail of such pretty leaves. You can sit back and watch the people go by, on their mission to get to their destination. Noticing God's creation to the smallest detail can be quite inspiring.
