Keswick Convention 2010

WOW!! In the Northern part of England, is the little city of Keswick, where approximately 12,000 people come from all over the world to hear the preaching of the word. Steve totally enjoyed all the book stores and you guessed it..... that's where we spent some of our time. I didn't mind, because I found some books that will help me in my studies also. Tuesday morning, we had the privilege to hear Ian Murray speak on the history of evangelical spirituality. He's the co-founder of Banner of Truth Books and a big advocate of the Keswick Convention. Monday, we had the opportunity to hear Joe Stowell. He did an excellent talk on Rahab: grace for a loser, from Joshua 2. This annual event has been going on now since 1875.

The town is infiltrated with Christians for 3 weeks. Every week has different speakers. There's activities for teens and young children.

It reminds me of my old camp meeting days in the 60's and 70's. They have prayer times (prayer works) and earth works (the missions exhibition). They had a camping spot and of course, numerous Bed and Breakfast Inns to choose from. We just enjoyed the walk around the center of town and took much of the sights. What a wonderful experience!!!
